Silhouette threadlift - A Testimonial

Off to the clinic today for my Aptos threading with, I must admit, some trepidation but also excited anticipation. In the unlikely event of infection, I'd started a course of anti-biotics as well as Arnica tablets to help any bruising that might occur.

Alison started by giving me some Ativan so I would be relaxed and then she covered my face in a local anaesthetic cream to prepare for a more powerful local anaesthetic injection.

She explained in great detail what the procedure would involve and settled me comfortably on the table and by now my face was completely anaesthetised and ready for her to begin.

Although I felt nothing physically, it was unnerving at first facing the threads entering and the slight tugging that was involved but I soon settled into it and was quite surprised when it was suddenly all over!

I was glad my husband had come with me so that he could drive me home - at that point, my face was a little swollen but otherwise I felt tired but quite comfortable. I'd been warned beforehand not to stretch or exercise my facial muscles too much so I let my husband do all the talking (what a happy day for him!).

When we got home I ate some yoghurt before an early night. I don't normally sleep on my back so although I went off to sleep well, I woke earlier than I might have.

The next day there was more noticeable bruising and swelling, but nothing too excessive. However, my face did feel extremely tender and I didn't even want to think about eating anything that involved biting or chewing. Talking and laughing was also minimal and I was lavish with the Arnica Cream and had no make up on. We'd been expecting to go to supper with friends the next evening but I decided at that point to cancel it and I was glad I did! Neither did I go out for my usual bike ride though I did have a walk down the lane and into the wood. Then another night sleeping on my back and I was happy to wake up the next morning feeling less swollen and much more comfortable though the face was still tender. I was still on 'baby food' and no makeup but I did get out for my bike ride where the air on my face felt wonderful!

By the fourth day I was eating more solid food and I covered my face quite liberally with make up so that I felt more 'me' and prepared for my first foray into town to do some shopping!

By the fifth day I felt confident enough to visit a neighbour for coffee and a chat and now - a week later- I feel great!

I saw Alison this morning and she took some 'after' photos to compare with the ones she'd taken before the procedure. I'm truly surprised and thrilled to see such an improvement and am off tonight with my husband for supper with friend with renewed confidence and happiness!
