Many patients can tolerate filler injections into many areas of the face with simple topical techniques such as ice or numbing cream. Juvederm Ultra is the filler of choice as it contains lidocaine local anaesthetic. However, some patients are particularly sensitive to needles and prefer to be offered a dental block procedure: two injections into the upper gum for the upper lip and mid face and two injections into the lower gum for the lower lip. These dental block injections are offered by Dr Alison Duncan, are quick and make the remainder of the procedure pain free.
